I chose this video because even though the legs or feet aren't the main focus of the video, as one might expect in an experimental walking video, the act of walking or running is obviously the main focus, and tells a story without words. It inspires me because it's more than just a glitched out video of someone running around. It's a story, while still fitting into the category. Syafiq Latiff is the creator of the video, which I'm interpreting as a story about a man who is running out of time. This concept is played on by a lot of key features in the video, such as the act of him running, scenes involving clocks, and first person few.
I chose this video because quite honestly it's use of experimentation makes me uncomfortable. It inspires the unnerving, strange side of my mind and therefore served as a contribution to when I was trying to think of a idea for my own video. Matteo Ricchetti is the creator of this video and it doesn't have much of a story line, this is just a video experimenting with time displacement, making the model look unnatural when she walks.
My idea for the project is a short horror film that I won't talk too much about because I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I will say that there's a Slenderman-esque feature where the camera fuzzes out whenever the enemy is near.
I suppose that the first video made me want to make it sort of a mystery, where there's no spoken plot, but still a story that can be understood. The second video inspired me to want to make a creepy and uncomfortable video.
Techniques I plan on using in the duration of my film are tilt, zoom in/out, static, glitch, and probably other things I haven't decided yet.
